HI, MY NAME IS NEDA

Roya means dream in Persian, my first language, which also gave us the word pyjama. It felt like the only name.

MY FAMILY

I had three kids under six when the idea for Roya started, so bedtime was always a negotiation and mornings were a scramble.

Then my sister gave the kids bamboo pyjamas she'd found on a trip to Asia.

My middle child, who had never willingly worn pyjamas in his life, refused to take them off.

The negotiation just ended.

Then I felt the fabric. I'd never felt anything that soft.

BUT WHY ONLY THE KIDS?

I wanted a pair.

But when I started looking, I couldn't find what I wanted for myself, or really for the rest of the family.

Why did fabric this soft seem to stop at kids' sizes? And if it could feel this good, how much softer could we make it?

So I decided to find out.

MAKING ROYA

I wanted to make pyjamas for the whole family — women, men and kids — that felt incredible to sleep in, but that we'd want to stay in too.

For bedtime stories, slow mornings, lazy Sundays, holidays and those rare moments when everyone's finally home and there's nowhere else to be.

Together with our manufacturer, we developed SomniCool™, our signature bamboo blend. We worked on the weight, drape, stretch and fit until we had something that felt the way I thought pyjamas should feel.

Dream-soft, cool and comfortable, but substantial enough to feel like something you want to wear, not just something you wear to bed.

WHAT ROYA BECAME

Somewhere along the way, I realised I wasn't really making sleepwear.

I was making something for the moment you change out of the day. When the work is done, the kids are finally settling down, or you're on holiday with nowhere you need to be.

Something to let go, feel good and rest in.

That's what I mean by restwear.

Roya started with the pyjamas I wanted for my own family. Now I make them for yours too.
